It is not a secret that human organs are still lacking, but in order to use animal organs, it is necessary to release genetic material from viruses of different nature. And to some extent the scientists managed to make progress in this area.

As statistics show, in Germany alone, more than 800 people live in anticipation of a new heart, with a favorable coincidence, only half of them will be able to receive a donor body during the year. In Ukraine, these figures are even more aggravating. Currently, the world's leading clinics are able to transmit heart valves of pigs to humans, but there remains a high risk of rejection. The human body reacts to the external body, which leads to a violation of the entire functional. According to Eckhard Wolf, a professor at the University of Molecular Livestock (Munich), as a result of the transfer of pork heart valves, molecules that are different from humans are formed on the cell surface on the patient's surface. This leads to increased antibody production and rejection of the organ.

Numerous experiments have shown that there are still many impediments and the transplantation of pork organs seemed hopeless. As a result, most physicians back in 2007 switched to stem cell research, with which you can get a tissue that is ideally suited for transplantation.

But there were some changes that showed that xenotransplantation (the use of animal organs as donor) has the right to development. Specialists from the National Institute of Blood, Heart and Lung of Maryland have conducted a number of genetic modifications with pig organs. As a result of genetic experiments, it was possible to bring out pigs, on the cell surface of which no marker molecules are formed, which leads to increased production of antibodies. As predicted by scientists, such changes in the code will lead to the fact that the human immunity will be deceived and the body will not be able to understand that as donor material were pig tissues. Possibility of changing the genetic code and directly xenotransplantation - is not only an increase in the chances of getting a healthy heart, but also reducing the risk of developing dangerous pathogens.

In order to achieve the desired result, experts from Maryland used the CRISPR/Cas9 system, which allows you to separate the individual DNA from the DNA, thereby modifying the animal.

In addition, all pigs participating in the experiment should be kept under sterile conditions, because in the process of evolution in the genetic material of pigs there was a retrovirus PERV, which is safe for the animal, but fatal for humans. This virus can be transmitted at the stage of the embryo from the parents of the future donor.

Deletion of retroviruses is now occupied by scientists at the Robert Koch Institute in Berlin, and in particular by Joachim Denner, who claims that retroviruses in the human body can lead to a real epidemic. Specialized equipment, or more precisely, the CRISPR/Cas9 system allows you to remove a virus with an accuracy of up to 100 percent. While the experiments are conducted exclusively on pig organs (mainly on the kidneys), but soon the same technology will be tested in humans. It will eliminate the formation of foreign molecules and eliminate the rejection of the pork heart or other internal organs.
