Often drinking alcohol is only useful to women over 65

10 Surprising Things That Happened When I Quit Drinking Alcohol (Health And Medical Video July 2018).

Moderate alcohol consumption is really helpful, but only if you are a woman over 65 years of age. To this conclusion were researchers from Britain and Australia.

For those of us who want to meet the medical necessity of daily drinking strong drinks, here is a bitter scientific truth.

Scientists from Australia and the United Kingdom have found that all allegations about the benefits of regular moderate intake of alcohol are untrue. Rather, they correspond only partially, since this benefit is observed only among women over 65 who take a small glass of wine per day.

Scientists have reviewed data on more than 50,000 people over the age of 50 who have been questioned about how much they drink alcohol. Then they were observed for 10 years. Research has shown that the vast majority of people have not received any benefit from the use of alcohol, even at a very moderate amount.

The only exception was a group of older women who drank one small glass of wine per day, as well as men aged 50 to 64 who drank about two liters of beer per week. Previous studies have shown that people who prefer a moderate use of alcohol are less likely to develop heart disease than those who do not drink at all. At the same time, those who abuse alcohol are more at risk of experiencing heart failure and stroke.

However, recent studies published in The BMJ say that the protective effect of small doses of alcohol is observed only in a very small population.
