What is hyperactive urinary bladder, partial and total urinary incontinence, when it occurs and how the disease is detected.

One of the most common urinary incontinence syndromes is hyperactive urinary bladder (GMP). Its main symptom is an imperative claim - an unbearable urge to urinate.

The bladder is a muscle sac, which collects urine from the kidneys through the ureter. In an adult, the bladder can safely hold 500 ml of urine, without causing a claim for urination. Hyperactive means that the muscle of the bladder (detrusor) is reduced in the enhanced mode, although an insignificant amount of urine (100-200 ml) accumulates. This causes unbearable unpleasant appetite.

Hyperactive urinary bladder syndrome is very often an independent disease, although there are rare cases when endocrine, neurological and other diseases are accompanied by accelerated urination, manifestations of GMP.

For early diagnosis of HMS syndrome it is advisable to seek medical attention if the frequency of urination per day exceeds eight times. The earlier the diagnosis will be established and treatment will begin, so it will be more effective.

One of the manifestations of hyperactive urinary bladder - urgent urinary incontinence - involuntary urination from a sharp sudden urge to urinate, which is due to involuntary reduction of the detrusor when filling the bladder.

Total and partial incontinence of urine

With total incontinence of urine there is a constant or periodic urine excretion in large volumes. The bladder thus loses its capacitive function. The reason for this may be his anatomical defects, spinal cord trauma or urinary tract injury during surgery. The cause of total incontinence may be a fistula formed between the bladder and the vagina.

With partial incontinence, slight urine discharge may occur with laughter, coughing, sneezing, or physical stress. Often occurs in women after childbirth. Partial incontinence can be due to diseases of the nervous system. In the treatment of this syndrome, in addition to other methods, healing physical education is very important.
