  • Use during pregnancy of medicinal products with a potential ototoxic effect;
  • Pregnancy toxicosis;
  • Severe fetal hypoxia;
  • Newborn asphyxia (1st grade Apgar score less than 5 points, 2nd Apgar score less than 7 points);
  • A deep degree of prematurity (gestational age less than 32 weeks);
  • REDUCTION (gestational age more than 41 weeks);
  • Very low and extremely low body weight at birth;
  • Congenital pathology of maxillo-facial skeleton;
  • Intracranial genital trauma;

  • Severe hypoxic-hemorrhagic lesions of the central nervous system;
  • Hemolytic disease of the newborn;
  • Persistent and/or severe hyperbilirubinemia associated with impaired conjugation of bilirubin in the liver;
  • Use for the treatment of a newborn child of medicinal products with a potential ototoxic effect: (antibiotics of the aminoglycoside series - streptomycin, monomycin, kanamycin, gentamicin, amikacin, tobramycin, etc.; antibiotics from the group of macrolides - erythromycin, azithromycin, etc.; loop diuretics - furosemide, etc., nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory drugs - indomethacin, etc.);
  • Prolonged use for the treatment of a newborn child with mechanical ventilation (duration of mechanical ventilation over 96 hours).

Detection of two or more risk factors in a child significantly increases the likelihood of his hearing impairment.

At the discharge of such a child from the maternity hospital, the neonatologist in the exchange card of the newborn notes "threatens to be muffled," indicating the factor.

In addition, the neonatologist conducts a conversation with the child's parents, focusing them on his examination in the first months of life.
